EXPORT length limitations?

Bob,
I don't know. You'll have to wait until FP Tech opens perhaps to find out
precisely. I'd bet though that it might be related to PFIMPBUF... maybe
not. Why, are you having a problem?
Nancy and I tracked down a real gremlin over the weekend. It did not deal
with anything in particular about anything... But there was an "import"
involved... and using a variable to work with that import. We were getting
very predictable results by changing PFIMPBUF, and then putting it back to
its original value and instead adding a big array to the processing. We
kept moving around _where_ a "Memory at x000..... can not be used." type
error so that it occurred after processing a different number of records
based on exactly what we would change. I can only guess that we were using
up memory resources in a slightly different (and repeatable) way with each
change. Finally, we changed a undefined value from undefined to a large
"defined" length and this absolutely "fixed" the problem for good. We know
we have found a very illusive bug in the Windows version, but it will/would
be hard to disclose it to FP Tech other than just sending them the exact
data and exact table and showing them the exact fix we made. I think, only
then, could they see this error clearly and fix it. My guess is that once
this happens (and I'm sure Nancy has kept everything as is) this
long-standing, hard-to-find "memory error" bug will be squashed. I can't
wait until Ken sees it. It took us an hour or two to diagnose and track it
down. We are very proud of ourselves. :-) (Nancy worked on this for days
thinking it might be a problem in her code... tough love, boy... filePro
should thank us weekend warriors and once again, The FP Room. :-)
