Native Version - Permission Denied Error

The problem with your spare machine is that the files retained their
"read only" attribute bit when you copied them back off your
CD-R.  In each filePro directory you can select all files and 
go to properties, and uncheck "read only".  An easier way
to do this would be from a command prompt.  While sitting in the
filepro directory, issue the following command:

attrib *.* -R /s /D

The timeline you describe isn't perfectly clear to me, but it is
possible that if you copied files from your spare machine, you
could have overwritten their files with read-only versions 
as well.
