to crash, but does not cause *clerk to crash."

As I said, I'm 99.99% certain that placing the 2-line sample in a file
(plus the extra lines needed to define the variables that you are using)
and running it will not crash *report, so without actual files, I doubt
that anyone will duplicate it.
