I'm trying to use this on a Windows 2000 workstation running filePro
for windows 5.0.13 with the command:
testprt4 "Brother HL-1440 series on D6LMPT11"
and testprt4 gives me the response:
Calling OpenPrinter(Brother HL-1440 series on D6LMPT11)
Error number: 1801
Error message:
The printer name is invalid.
I've used testprt4 and 5 successfully in the past. I did type the name a
couple of times very carefully, with and without the quotes. The printer is
active on the network, and I'm able to send a page to it. I'm trying to set
it up as a filePro printer, and I was just looking for the shorter // name
for the printer.
I really hate the way Windows 2000 comes up with such a long printer name
when you map a network printer. As far as I can tell, Windows 2000 won't
let me change this name to something shorter.
Thanks,
Mike Schwartz
