I still have a Thorens turntable with a 16in Shure SME arm that works
(although it sometimes requires manually spinning it and letting it rotate
for a while to stabilize after years of inactivity).  It's connected to a
Dynakit preamp and Dynakit 120 watt power amp.  The Dynakit FM3 tuner that
I built as a freshman in college still works as well -- at least it did the
last time I turned it on.
