Well, since you said the Toshiba was better or more reliable or whatever it
was you said than the SATO... I just sort of assumed you had actually tried
one out and tested it against the Toshiba. Consumer and techie reports are
one thing. Actual experience another. I only have experience with the SATO,
not the Toshiba, so I was aiming both ears toward _you_. Switching it around
won't help us. :-)
I know this, the UPS bar code printers we use are teeny-tiny. and very very
light duty compared to the SATO. Also, they only hold teeny-tiny rolls. I've
never seen a Toshiba, but anything that can do 50K 4" x 5" lablels a day
reliably sounds like one hell of a workhorse to me. A Rolls Royce not a
Cadilac. How much _exactly_ does a network ready Toshiba cost??? Thw SATO
5900RVE is about $1050. It can *easily* do maybe 8,000 4 x 7 labels or more
a day... which is what we do about... but 50,000... I think the head would
be ruined pretty quickly. Ours last for years at the level and speed we use
them. I'm curious to know more about this Toshiba... and your application.
Jeez, 50k labels a day is about 35 a minute 24/7. Yikes, I don't think the
SATO could do that... and we have giant 10" rolls of 4.5" x 7" labels loaded
on the back end of them.
What the hell are you doing that needs 35 labels a minute??? What interfaces
with this kind of production? People? How? What applies these labels. Is
the operation in-line??? Does this printer cost anywhere near $1050????
Thanks,
