Hi John:

I've never personally worked with the Sato 5900RVE model or any
other Sato label printer. The last couple of times I needed to select a
barcode printer, I depended on a couple of experts as well as printer
comparison reports from the trade rags.

The reports were mostly from "Retail Systems Reseller" magazine.
The experts were a guy about 3 levels up in tech support at United Parcel
Service who convinced me to go with Toshiba and a guy over in Minnesota who
sells and services several brands who also recommended the Toshibas over the
other brands he repairs.

As far as I know, UPS is still providing Toshiba printers to all of
its large scale shippers. I'd doubt that they would do that if they felt
they weren't getting the most bang for the buck with Toshiba.

I just did a quickie scan on the 'Net for a price/performance
comparison, and, looking just at the raw numbers, Toshiba B-752 still wins
out over the Sato 5900RVE.

Some of the Toshiba printers I have setup are pumping out over
50,000 4"x5" labels a day very reliably, so I've been happy with the
Toshibas. YMMV, though. If you feel that the Sato printers are real
"Cadillacs", or that I'm not seeing some important features, then I'm all
ears.

Thanks,

Mike
