That's why I like to watch NWI - News World International. It's
pretty much the cable news division of the Canadian Broadcasting
Company.

They also have news reports direct from major foreign broadcast
enties. They have just added ITV Evening News - said to be
the most popular evening news in England, and that joins
Japan's NHK English language version of their evening news, and
of cours The National - the Canadian Evening news.

Add to his regular sections from the Chinese State news agency, the
German Journal, and other, you get an outsiders veiw of the US.

If you have a DBS setup you can switch to the native language
versions and forgo the tranlations.

You also will notice that there are more than about five stories
repeated on ad infinitum, or is that ad nauseum.

News as others view the world has always been available, but just
not on your local TV station. Years ago I subscribed the The
America's which basically covered all the important news in the
Western Hemisphere, and another - the name of which I've forgotten
at the moment - that had editorials from all the major news papers
in the world.

And as a kid I'd often tune in the shortwave and listen to English
broadcasts from foreign countries.

I do recommend NWI. It has no bobbing heads, no Chatty Cathie's
taling with Beatiful Bob's and injecting their own personal
feelings on the events of the day.

Almost always it is one person reporting the news without emphasing
three or four words per sentence. I thought news got bad when
every news reader in the US seemed to take to heart the advice
given in the film Broadcast News. It would almost be nice to go
back to that mode now.

And for those who aren't aware of it - I spent my first career in
broadcast - and it's nothing like it used to be - or IMO should be.
