I have read Tragedy and Hope.  Well, mostly anyhoo.  Perhaps you should re-read them, since you
seem to have missed how the current effort fits the master plan.

Exactly.  Which is why the current strangeness, is not so strange at all.

Well, not to worry.  With the 9/11 report out, and the various pundits beating the drum for implimentation of it's most Big Brother-ish aspects, we will all soon be safe in Mother Liberty's arms.   Hmm, guess that would be Big Sister, then, huh?
