Down here in Kenturkey, apparently they (at least my wife's family) always
called it "egg bread", so I can still have it in good faith.  :)  My God, a
perk to living here?  It doesn't erase the weather, though!

As for the French, we -are- talking about a nation whose "cultural
ministry" or whatever they're calling it these days has -banned- the word
email (or e-mail, or any "western" variant) in favour of their own word,
which basically means the same thing.  Supposedy it was somehow polluting
their cultural identity and language.

Now if -that- isn't snobbery, I dunno what is.  Oh, yes I do...Quebec's
stance on signs, where they must be bilingual, with French -first-, or
shopkeeps pay a hefty fine.

Both are out in left field, IMHO.
