printing a logo

The simplest way to do this. (and the cheapest) Is to buy Jim
Asman's "mkpcl" program (for $75 I think). This program allows you to
convert various file types like bmp, pcx, to pcl. This file can be inserted
anywhere you like on a form with a print code that positions it according to
the top left corner. The mkpcl program _also_ allows you to position the
created .pcl file in such a way that it will print automatically at the
desired position on the filePro format when it prints. I don't do it this
way, but it can make things easier sometimes. Then you just put the
insertion print code at the top of the form and the picture prints where it
should. However, the whole process can be further automated as we do to
generate the .pcl from the .bmp on the fly and then insert it into the form.
This way, the .bmp can actually change from time to time and everything
prints as normal. I know this sounds like a commercial... sorry 'bout that,
but mkpcl is just about the best $75 add-on to filePro that I've ever
bought. No, it _is_ the best add-on to filePro, period. It paid for itself
the first day I bought it years and years ago and I've used it hundreds, if
not thousands of times since then.
It helps with putting signatures on pages, logos, pictures, etc. Simply the
best way to go. I'm not even sure how to put a bmp on a filePro format any
other way... the conversion to PCL is essentially the only way to do it...
at least that I know of... Of course, this can be done without mkpcl... but
having that program with all it's features, including compression so that
the final image only takes up the tiniest amount of memory... helps things
print quickly and efficiently. That's my suggestion for this question.
