Final Word on the Password Problem

Finally, I think we have the password problem solved and I'd like to
thank everyone for their help, especially Bob Stockler, as it was his
suggestion that we ended up using. I used vi to look at the files that
had the password on it and the ones that I could read, wrote down the
password characters in the first line. Turns out that many of the files
had the same characters. Bob suggested putting these characters in the
4th line of the fppath file. This allowed me to get into the processing
tables and save them as ASCII, then I could go back into them by vi and
take out the password. Once this was completed, we removed the password
from fppath. We still are puzzled by this, however. When we went into
the fppath file, there was already a password on the 4th line, which had
not been there before. This file was read only, so how it got there, we
don't know. There are only 2 of us here who know anything about this
system, so I don't believe it is a disgruntled employee. I am going to
start checking this file on a weekly basis and see if it happens again.
Thanks again for all your suggestions.
