The way I read it, he has an Excel spreadsheet and wants to fire off a
macro that will launch a batch file (from inside Excel) that runs filePro
(said fP process exporting data to a file), and then import that data file
into Excel after completion of the batch file.

If I'm correct about the scenario he proposes, my wife and I have this
solved with working and tested Excel code.  All one needs to do is plug the
relevant import in at the appropriate spot in the macro code.  Works like a
gem.
