Ken,

I do like your definition, "bio-metric description of the features of
their fingerprint"

Hey, no way am I going to argue with your intelligence! But,

If bio- is, life, living organisms, biology, biological
If metric is, measurement or a system of measurement

Then bio-metric is a measurement of life, or in this case, "a description
of the features of a fingerprint."

If geometry is (quote), "the mathematics of the properties, measurement and
relationships of points, lines, angles, surfaces and solids."

How can the measurement of a given fingerprint or the conversion of the
features or measurements of such into a description of the features be
compared and matched by a computer without a geometric comparison and match
of those feature descriptions of those given measurements of that
fingerprint ?

PS., Anything beyond this is beyond my capabilities.
