Quoting (was Re: Why?)

I'm using Outlook 2000, and this is an example of the best possible
automatic configuration, and it stinks, but I'm shackled to it as long as I
work here, and I try to make it work as best I can.
I'll usually edit the quoted header by hand to resemble the typical quoting
attribute line. That is I'd replace the top 7 lines of the below quoted
text with something like "On Friday, July 02, 2004 8:07 AM George Simon
said:" and intersperse my comments as appropriate, or, like you, just top
post is I think top posting will still be clear since it is a PITA to post
inline using Outlook.
Options: Preferences: E-mail Options: When replying, Prefix each line
(I do not prefix forwards as a rule)
Options: Format: Mail Format: Plain Text
I am *not* using Word to edit as it refuses to produce messages friendly to
text mail clients.
And I frequently have to set the format of a particular message to plain
text if I'm replying to one that was sent in HTML.
Hope this helps,
Ray
