Verizon sent me 4 line filters and 1 wall phone filter along with a 
Westell VersaLink 327W. This 327W has 4 ports for my local network 
connections. I have no idea if this is a modem/router or a modem/hub or 
whatever.

It set up fine and I did not have to filter my alarm system.  The 
Verizon office (wherever that is) had to Sync me line and modem. It took 
2 techie calls to convince them the filters were installed on my end. 
   After that, they synced my line 6 hours later (1 AM) and followed 
that with a call to check on things at 8 AM.
