I never do the holiday travel thing. Seems nuts to get caught up in the
crowds and snarls and such even in -good- weather.

*snerkle* :) Hey, I'm not actually complaining that we -got- it. 2.5
feet...I've seen worse in my lifetime, back up north. I'm just annoyed
that the meteorologists (read: inaccurate witch doctors--even The Weather
Channel's site originally said this would all happen close to 24hrs later
than it did, as late as last Sunday) didn't even come close on predicting
the right volume. If I'd have known it'd be that bad, I'd have prepared
for it ahead of time. It was supposed to be "a couple inches"...about
four, really.
Actually,, it could have been 0.25". What really killed us was the ice
underneath it, as it started out as rain, then sleet, then finally an ice
storm both before and after the actual storm. It was blowing from one
direction and I remember walking into the living room and asking Kelly what
was making this weird crackling sound--were our computers okay? It was ice
hitting the windows out there. Doh. If it hadn't been for the ice, the
snow probably wouldn't have even been a factor here.
