Well, I wouldn't know because I gave up on kermit as anything but a
last-resort effort on serial dialups years ago because it didn't cut it for
me features-wise compared to things like Procomm and Term ][+.

I've never needed to use it since I've been in a network situation.  The
last time I used it was probably 1993.

I suspect I was using it in a much different fashion than people are using
it today.
