No.  I have wput on my linux box.  It's purpose-specific:

DESCRIPTION
       Wput  is  a free utility that is able to upload files to a
       ftp-server.

It doesn't handle HTTP uploads.  It's also a bit quirky in some respects.
It was never really out of beta.  I have v0.4.
