As I said, I hate touchpads with a passion, and the ThinkPads don't have
them so I haven't had to deal with them.

That hasn't been a problem with the ThinkPads in the seven years I've been
using them. There's only one choice, but it works.
Now if you want to discuss sound, that's a bit nastier :-).
