OT: adv - from The FP Room

We have all sorts of people visit the FP Room. There are the 6 or 7 regulars
who are there all day (and night) long... and then there are those who drop
by more weekly or so... Most everyone who joins the room for any length of
time finds out quickly how valuable it is. For example, the past few days, I
have been boring Brian White, Jim Asman, Fairlite, Richard Kreiss and a
couple others by working with my friend and paid consultant, Cathy Anne
Murtha. She has been teaching me how to use various applications, mostly a
new screen reader and MS apps. I have learned so many new things, it's
amazing. For example... did you know that it is just plain easier to open a
URL from the Run Menu rather than opening Internet Explorer and doing it the
long way? Just hit Windows-key-R and enter the URL. If you want it in a
"new" browser window, use Shift-Enter instead of Enter. Pretty good stuff
and impossible to find/learn elsewhere.

Anyway, Cathy mentioned she is running a seminar (webinar) on Outlook this
weekend... She is teaching for 8 hours 4 per day Sat/Sun, giving a $100 text
book (on CD) and a complete recording of the sessions all for $50.  I know
most of you consider Outlook as Outhouse... but there might be some of you
who would enjoy and really benefit from this training. You will never get
more for your money and have a good time doing it. I have taken some of
Cathy Anne's seminars before. They are great.

Just thought I owed her a plug up here on our mailing list for the time she
spends helping out in the FP Room. (Please note I've marked this message OT
_and_ ADV.   :-)  Hopefully, you will all view it as a good pointer to a
valuable resource. At the same time, I would also point to Mark's LiteMail
product (which works with the Outlook program or any other mailer) as a
simple way to send mail (with attachments) from filePro. He is also a great
resource in the Room... and while I'm at it, if you don't have a copy of Jim
Asman's MKPCL program, your filePro reports and forms are really suffering
from lack of pictorial/logo creativity. Best money you will ever spend.

Others have been frequenting the Room from time to time... Alan Mazuti (sp?)
occasionally, and he is working on some really great enhancements to filePro
and the web... among other things. As it goes, I can't plug you if you don't
show up and tell us what you have... drop by, it will be worth your time.
