Using the commented table to avoid filePro syntax errors
I removed line-at-a-time every line but:
@MENU If:
Then:
and the error persisted. I even tried it with a 1-line table
with no label and only a single quote on the Then: line (to
keep filePro from discarding it). Still the error occurred,
although the table had not been executed.
This was the clue. The Menu Command Line executing it was:
@/fp/dclerk fPfile -s0 -y '' -z shell
I removed the @ and the error disappeared.

PS - The reason I had the @ there was because sometimes after
exiting the UNIX shell the Menu Choice would spontaneously
execute again, and it was easier to type "[Enter]" than to
type "[Enter]exit[Enter]". But if I have to type the latter
every now and then that'll be easier than having to move the
cursor to the upper right corner of the window and click.
