Bill didn't want to accept my statement that I wanted to keep everything
vanilla.
I have not worked in a *nix environment in over 15 years. I have the "free"
*nix CD-ROM from Microsoft but have not installed on my system as yet.
One of the reasons I don't want to use outside programs is I will have to
install & maintain them. I only use outside programs when there is no solution
from within filepro. I have used a old shareware program from PC Magazine
called Browse for many years. I renamed the program file cat.exe as I found it
easier to type. This program displays a text file 132 characters wide with left
& right scrolling as well as forward & back. I would send a report to file and
then "cat" it to screen. Would love this functionality with the -pv option.
Although an old dos program, it still works with WinXP.
However, today I would use FPSQL to generate the report to screen with similar
results.
