Bernie seemed to know the retail side but Rich, in all honesty, had no clue.  The two people that I mos respected at Tandy were Tom Roxburgh, and Dean Lawrence.  I know that Dean was one of the original people with Radio Shack when Charles Tandy purchased it.  I had several situations where Dean and Tom both, taught me how to run a business and treat customers.  In my opinion, they were awesome men and businessmen.  They both took the time to teach me how to do it right.  The only thing they ever expected of me was 100% while at my store, which was a lot of time.  It is amazing to me the list of people that had risen above their Peter Principle and stayed there to create havoc without a clue.  Some consolation is, I was transferred to FW as the fair haired boy and turned the stores profitability around.  I had a manager of the down town store ripping off FWISD by installing R&D equipment as new.  I caught and replaced it and dumped the equipment on his doorstep at Tandy Center.  He then became my boss.  After a few weeks he figured out a way to get me out of the store and demoted me.  I left the company about a year and a half later.  About six months after I left I walked into a Office Max(it was under a different name then) and there this guy was the manager of this office supply store, doing his daily report.  I was the last person he wanted to see.  I was very professional and made a point to go over and shake his hand.  It made me feel better.
