OT: Best Compliment I've Had All Week

Tonight I got (what I originally thought) was the nicest
compliment I'd received all week.

I took my wife to dinner at TGI Friday's and the waiter
wanted to see my ID before he'd accept my order for a
Vodka Martini on the rocks (with olives).

Here I am, a 76 years old man (who looks it), being carded
before I can get a drink! I was complimented (at first).
I get complimented that way by clerks in drug, liquor and
cigatette stores, kidding with me, from time to time.

Then I found out he wasn't complimenting me, and he wasn't
kidding. He wanted to see a photo ID showing my age before
he'd accept an order for an alcoholic drink from me.

He then brought over the manageress who explained it was a
policy dictated to them by corporate headquarters. FIRM.

Not wanting to expose my name to them (I didn't want them
to overload me with filePro questions) we graciously left.

I then took my wife to Joe's O.K. Bayoo, in the same area,
where we had delicious gumbo and fried catfish, and our
waitress, Terry, told us that a bar tenderess of 13 years
at that Friday's had been fired for not carding a 36 years
old corporate "shopper".

TGIAS (Thank Goodness it's almost Saturday).
