I was gonna do do this, but there were a couple of good bits to respond
to and I prefer to kill two birds, etc.

Yup. A _bunch_ of black hardware available, and stuff that _almost_
matches the Mercedes Silver of my old Tandy collection. The color that
seemed to be the biggest complaint about the Model One aside from the
cassette interface (that was better than anything by Apple, Atari or
Commodore, it's just that it wasn't as _bad_ as those others so users
used tape long enough to complain rather than buy diskette drives with
the next paycheck).

I've tried that. Damned quantum effects give you confetti worse than a
dual axis shredder. And don't even _think_ about clearing a jam with
power on unless you have somebody else's hand to use.

There is no guarantee on GNU grep, or any other free software product.
And few folks in the FSP are worth suing.

Mark, I assume you've watched the occasional spy thriller. Plenty of
manly military men dolled up as Mata Haris. (And don't assume that all
soldiers are straight -- there was a lot of history between Sparta and
"don't ask, don't tell -- there were more gays at Travis AFB in the 70s
than there were in most towns under 50k population -- not that I am or
was gay, but I seemed to be accepted due to being in a polyandrous
arrangement.)
