Is it just me, or did Brian K. White say:

Never having seen them before, I wondered if they did something to help the
cooling or if they were there for effect or what. Hadn't a clue. I didn't
even know it had them until Kelly brought it home. :) It was 480w for $55
with two fans vs 450w for $79 with one fan, so I said go for it.
Reminds me of the underside glow of many a custom car. I didn't realise
that it was all the rage in system customisation now.
So long as there aren't any fruity-coloured, translucent pieces of plastic
externally present, I'm happy. I can't stand equipment that looks like a
drug dealer's pager. :)
If I had my way (and I may at some point), I'd buy a system with -all
black- hardware. I -loved- the official NeXT hardware's appearance. I'm
not sure why black hardware costs more though, and why the fruity
translucent stuff is so omnipresent. Computers should look serious, if not
downright ominous. :) I wonder if they'll ever release a webcam that
looks like a HAL-9000 lens. That could be cool mounted on black hardware.
:)
The only problem I have with black hardware on a PC is that if you manage
to get it, and then you add something, it's harder to get matching hardware
faceplates, casings on externals, etc.
Overall, I don't care -too- much so long as it works--and isn't fruity and
translucent. :)
