what digital to analog converters are you referring to?  from what
i've learned, there are big differences in the way they work - the
multitech's expect, as analog DID, to provide voltage to line,
something around 48V, whereas in digital, the CO provides the voltage.
Is this some specialty converter?

i know i can plug an single line phone in and make it ring on demand,
but i don't think the DID DTMF would get passed through in such a
situation.
