Just one other comment:

The one thing about using internal controls with filePro (not OS based) is that
you can keep tighter control on who can do what, when & where.  This is
especially true if your programs are affected by HIPPA requirements.  

However, like any other system, the best of intensions can be foiled by bad
practices.  I spent a few years with military intelligence (no oxymoron
intended).  It always amazed me how easily I could break into secure military
facilities under orders to check how secure the facility was.

Recently, at the hospital where my wife worked, I sat at her computer, clicked
on network neighborhood, saw a list of all the various networks & computers.  I
was able to move to doctors office networks and view many patient files on their
machines.  Some of these were protected others were open to the "public".  No! I
didn't tell the IS director.  He and I don't get along, but that's another
story.
