Function key mappings for ``ansi'' emulations aren't all created equal. I
finallly got tired of figuring out the mappings using ``vi'' with liberal
applications of ctrl-v FKEY to figure out what a particular terminal
program sent so wrote an ncurses based C program, termkeys, that prompts
you for each function key, F1 through F14, the shifted function keys,
insert, home, pgup, pgdn, end, and the arrow keys, then generates termcap
and terminfo entries for that terminal. My impetus for writing this came
when I had to deal with function keys sending multiple non-printing
characters that would stymie vi's ctrl-v escape.

I haven't had time to properly package source for this program, but an SCO
OpenServer 5.0.6a version is available for people on the list who might
want to try it. I haven't tried this on any systems other than the one on
which it was built so can't say for sure that it won't have some missing
libraries on a stock SCO box.
