12.0pt'>CAPR has distributed over 2000 petitions to volunteers for the
statewide Property Fairness Initiative, I-933, with more going out the door
every day.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span>Similarly, CAPR has
distributed petitions for the County Choice Initiative, I-932.<span
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span>Supporters are spreading the petitions
out to friends and acquaintances as well as setting up in various locations to
collect signatures from the general public.<span style="mso-spacerun:
yes"> </span>Every signature that we supply will save dollars that can be
used during the election campaign for these initiatives.<span

12.0pt'>Supporting good political candidates is one of CAPR’s most important
activities.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span>In order to get good
laws and have them upheld, we have to elect the right people.<span
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span>It is maddening to watch politicians
and judges do end runs around laws, which protect our rights, just to promote
their small political agendas.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span>It
is important during this election cycle that we pay close attention to the
candidates who are running for the Washington State Supreme Court.<span
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span>When the Property Fairness Initiative
becomes law, it will immediately face court challenges and we will need the
right people on the bench.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span></span></font></p>

12.0pt'>An early standout is attorney John M. Groen, who is running against
Justice Gerry Alexander.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span>Mr.
Groen’s career has included many land use cases, a nine year stint with Pacific
Legal Foundation and his law firm has represented CAPR in its’ fight against
the King Co. CAO.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span>He deserves our
support.</span></font></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><font size=3 face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:
12.0pt'><![if !supportEmptyParas]> <![endif]><o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

style='font-size:12.0pt'>CAPR Statewide</span></font></b></h2>

<p class=MsoNormal><font size=3 face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:
12.0pt'>CAPR continues to take steps to expand membership and to become an
organization with statewide chapters and affiliations.<span
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span>Recently, CAPR President Rodney
McFarland and Vice-President Preston Drew met with the leaders of the Kitsap
Alliance of Property Owners (KAPO).<span style="mso-spacerun: yes">
</span>It appears likely that CAPR and KAPO will affiliate which will
strengthen both organizations.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes">
</span>Hopefully, CAPR can aid KAPO in its’ fight against the newly passed
Kitsap Co. CAO.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span>The Kitsap Co. CAO
is worse than the King Co. CAO (believe it or not!) but appears to be poorly
written.</span></font></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><font size=3 face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:
12.0pt'><![if !supportEmptyParas]> <![endif]><o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

12.0pt'>Elsewhere, CAPR has put membership solicitation brochures in the hands
of petition signature gathers across the state in an effort to gauge interest
and build up our rolls.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span>The CAPR
Board of Directors will analyze the results and decide how to best move forward
with this project.</span></font></p>
